At Welling School on the 23rd October 2009 it was PINK day! This fundraising day was used raise money for British Breast Cancer Campaign, where every student was asked to wear one item of PINK and still adhere to school uniform rules. Everyone looked good and made an effort to raise money for this great charity.

Many year groups and tutor groups took great part in this day raising lots of money with a donation along with their item of PINK!

Lots of students took great time in organizing their outfit for the PINK day and so many of the younger year groups dressed for the occasion. In one year 7 class looked amazing (look at the picture).

As for the older years the majority made and effort but I did see the PINK stuff declining as I took a tour around the classrooms!! But I can hardly blame them as I didn’t wear anything PINK as in the morning getting ready I sooooo badly forgot (clear mistake!!) but I did make a donation and ate wayyyyyyyy to many sweets going around for the raffle!

The best dressed was quite a hard choice to make but had to be done, was two boys in a year 7 class wearing bright PINK Tutu’s they looked so good and pulled great poses when I asked for a picture! Well Done Boys!

Teachers dressed very, very, very well this PINK day and I have to say I was impressed!

I journeyed round the school to find teachers who had taken part in the day and loadsssss had done so Well Done! I’m sorry I couldn’t get round to taking pictures of all of you. With T- shirts, tights, shirts, ties and matching beads everyone looked so fun and its all for a good charity. Even lessons where being taught around a PINK theme!!
Now the part you’ve all been waiting for, the best dressed……this was a very tough decision to make but after much deliberation I have chosen……YOU ALL! I couldn’t choose, you all individually made the day your own!!!! Hahaaaaa……..

Along with dressing PINK we had various activities going on around school, including bake sales, raffles, nails being painted, hair done and Mrs. Bonner’s tutor group making toast? This was all raising money for the charity and it turned out to be a wonderful day for the whole school. Well done WellingJ

It’s sad to say but winter is upon us and it’s time to get out your thermals. There’s nothing worse than walking to school in the morning and freezing your wotsits off so invest in a great coat; if you find one you love then you may actually look forward to those drizzly days when you get to wear it.

Bright colours are really fashionable at the moment so show off your personality and lighten up dull days by picking a loud coloured coat.

Alternatively, keep it classic and smart with black, which will mean you can wear it to school and still look great when you go out afterwards.

A handy tip if you can’t afford the clothes in stores is to head to the internet; eBay is a great place to find the things you want for half the price and you’ll probably end up getting something that none of your mates will have.

Here are my best buys on the high street right now. Happy shopping!

Faux fur coats are really fashionable at the moment; admittedly they aren’t particularly practical but they're great for dressing up.
